Dan joined the United States Army after high school, graduating from the US Army School of Engineering with Honors. He proudly served as a Sergeant attached to the Americal Division in Viet Nam. Continuing his engineering experience from the military, Dan furthered his education in Colorado and earned his degree in Sanitary Engineering. Dan spent time with Public Service Company of Colorado and as a Union negotiator for the Local IBEW, before becoming the City Manager for the newly formed City of Evergreen. Dan was then recruited to serve as National and International Director for a Geological Oil and Gas Exploration Service Company, assisting in the education and development of new technologies in exploration drilling.

Dan began his recruiting career with Management Recruiters International in the Corporate Banking business during the challenging Savings and Loan Crisis in the 1980's, assisting banking institutions rebuild their human capital need. After several years as one of the top billers and trainer for the MRI recruiting teams, Dan went back to his roots to focus on Engineering and established Hygun Group, Inc.

On a personal note Dan is an avid Martial Artist (7th Degree Black Belt, Korean Karate, 6th Degree Okinawan Karate and a Weapons Master) and has served as a National Chief Referee for the United States Amateur Athletics Union, Tae Kwon Do Associations and has gone on to develop a nationally recognized womens self defense course known as A.C.T. Christian Hydrick is COO and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Hygun Group, Inc.    He started with the firm as a research assistant and after graduating from the University of Alabama with a degree in Business was chosen to open the Los Angeles, CA recruiting office for Hygun Group. After successfully establishing a West Coast presence, he was promoted to Regional Vice President and expanded the region to include the Bellevue, WA office.  He was then promoted by the Board of Directors to COO and relocated back to Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta, Ga. where he was given the operational responsibilities for the success of the largest, multi-million dollar retainer in Hygun Group history. Thru all these responsibilities, Christian has continued to maintain an active retainer recruitment role, and while heading up the National Land Development Desk his teams also have experience in Environmental, Water/Wastewater, Water Resources and Geotechnical. With the engineering talent pool continuing to decline in numbers, Christian’s teams have continued to achieve a placement rate of 97% on retainers.

While working at Hygun Group he also built and ran a nationally ranked martial arts school.  Christian has taught/coached multiple AAU Jr. Olympic Gold medal Tae Kwon Do champions and has been studying martial arts for 24 years.  He is also an instructor for a women’s self defense system he and his father developed and have done seminars on, across the country.

“The greatest downfall for an employer in this industry today, is the belief that there will always be talent available.  So the urgency in the hiring process when you identify the right person is not necessary.”  Christian Hydrick
